Perfect Tenses
Present Perfect = HAVE/HAS + Past Participle Verb
1. An action that already happened before NOW but don't know when it happened.
For Ex: I have already watched that movie. (Time? Do not know)
2. An action that has been repeated a few times before NOW but Don't Know when exactly.
For Ex: I have read that book 5 times!! (Did this action 5 times, when? Not known)
3. Use with Since and For means until NOW still true:
For Ex: We have studied in MMU for 11 weeks (Still here)
Present Perfect Progressive = HAVE/HAS BEEN+ VERB+ING
An action that is still happening UNTIL NOW and you want to show HOW LONG (FOR) or SINCE WHEN (SINCE):
Ex: I have been waiting for her for 1 hour ~means you are still waiting for her.
Past Perfect~ HAD+ PAST PARTICIPLE VERB
1. to show Past Past ^^ to show an action/ situation in the past already happened but before that action, another action actually had happened much earlier.
For Ex: It was midnight and she asked me to join her for supper. I didn't accept her invitation because I had taken a late dinner. (means dinner was taken before she asked you)

Progressive/ Continuous Tenses
Present Progressive = IS/ARE/AM + VERB+ING
An action which is happening NOW for a this week, year or month and is temporary.
For Ex: The students are reading the notes that Ms Jasline has uploaded.
Past progressive = was/were+ verb+ing
~An action was in the middle of happening at a certain time in the past.
For ex: I was sleeping at 12 a.m. last night means at 12 a.m. i was already deep in my sleep, in the MIDDLE of the action.
~ 2 past actions were happening together without interruption from either one.
For ex: While the teacher was teaching in class, her students were taking down notes. These 2 actions were in progress at the same time in the past.
~ 2 past actions but a shorter actually interrupted or happened during the progressive action.
For ex: While Tom was trying to change the light bulb, he slipped and fell. So he was in the middle of changing the bulb when he actually slipped and fell.
Future Progressive~Will be verb+ing
= An action that will be happening or progressive at a certain time or when a certain action happens in the future.
For Ex: I know Lim sleeps every night at 10; you asked me if you could visit her at 10.30, I would say no because if you go at 10.30 p.m. you won't meet her because she will be sleeping then.

Simple Tenses
Simple Present = used to show habit, facts, general statements.
Just decide if the verb needs –s/es or NO s/es depending on the subject…
Habit = do again and again as a routine, for ex: she brushes her hair every morning before going for class.
Facts = Already proven by scientists, historians, researchers.
Ex: The earth revolves around the sun. The sun rises from the east.
General truth = just want to give some true information about something or someone.
Ex: She speaks English fluently.
Ex: Girls love diamonds, Barbie dolls and clothes.
Simple Past = Verb+ed or Change the verb (for ex: eat - ate, steal - stole)
Simple Past is used to show an action that already happened and ended in the past for ex: She died in 2000. SUPER KHALAS, overrrr...
It can also be used to show two actions that happen one after another immediately. For Ex: When Osama saw the girl, he smiled happily :) so saw and smile happened immediately, one after another and when will show you action 1.
Simple Future = Will+verb (original) or BE (is/are/am) + going to +verb (Original)
An action or something that we predict will happen in the future. Ex: I think it will rain tonight or I think it is going to rain tonight...Both are equally correct since you are making a prediction.
Remember, ONLY INDEPENDENT CLAUSE can be used with the future tense, DEPENDENT CLAUSES MUST USE simple present. For Ex: When he sees you, he will pass you the money. NOT When he will see you, he will pass you the money.
